Being a Student Nurse is Hard...

It was hard for me 20 years ago, and I encounter nursing students often who tell me it still is!  Below are some examples of how I might be able to help make it a little easier!

Medical Terminology Support

One truly has to learn a new language when getting into nursing.  Not only are there abbreviations everywhere, there are often words that sound the same but mean very different things!  Over the years, I have learned some tricks for sorting out different medical terms and finding ways to remember them.

School/Career Professional Development Support

There are often many programs, locations, incentives, requirements, and things to consider on the student nurse journey…..having an experienced nurse to bounce things off of and ask the real questions about things you’ve heard or wondered can be helpful.

Encouragement Support

For me there were several times throughout my time as a student nurse when I was close to giving up on my dream.  I am so, so glad I didn’t after 20 years; but the struggle is real!  I am a nurse who struggles with math and wasn’t sure I could make it….I discovered there are tools and things out there to help a driven nurse overcome and succeed, sometimes you just need a pep-talk or a swift kick; I’m here for whichever you need!

Pathophysiology Support

Understanding complex concepts such as diabetes, congestive heart failure, the general anatomy and physiology of the human body can be overwhelming at times.  During a support session, if there is a particularly challenging concept or process, I will do my best to help you understand it in a meaningful way.

Whatever you need to help you on your journey to becoming a Nurse, I will do what I can to support you!

NCLEX Test Prep sessions available for individuals or groups!
